Terms

The deal, in plain language.

What you’re agreeing to when you book a pickup, what we’re committing to, and the handful of things we can’t take.

Last updated July 2026

Who you’re contracting with

Flat Rate Haul Co. takes your booking, sets the price, holds the payment, and assigns your job to an independent hauler licensed and insured to work in the Tri-Cities. Your agreement is with us. If anything goes wrong on pickup day, you call (509) 416-6598 — not the crew’s own business.

The flat-rate guarantee

The price shown when you book is the total price for the items you listed. It includes labor, hauling, and disposal. We will not add a charge on pickup day for stairs, weight, distance, access, or fuel.

The one thing that changes your total is adding items. Each item you add to the same pickup is charged at its own add-on price, listed beside every rate on the pricing page, and you see the new total before you approve it. The smallest possible booking is $199, which reflects the $149 it costs to send a truck out at all.

Payment

Payment is by card, taken when you book, through ZenBooker’s processor. Nothing is due to the crew on pickup day and they will not ask you for money. If someone does, call us.

Rescheduling and cancellation

  • Reschedule — free, any time up to the night before your pickup.
  • Cancel more than 24 hours out — full refund, no questions.
  • Cancel inside 24 hours — we retain $49 for the reserved slot. The route for that day is already built around your address.
  • If we cancel — full refund, and we’ll offer you the next available slot.

Access on pickup day

You’re responsible for making the item reachable: an unlocked gate, a clear path, a spot the truck can park. If the crew arrives and cannot reach the item, we’ll reschedule once at no charge. A second failed attempt is treated as a same-day cancellation.

For in-home pickups, someone 18 or older should be present. For garage, driveway, porch, or curbside pickups you don’t need to be home — just say so when you book.

What we can’t take

No hazardous material: paint, solvents, chemicals, motor oil, fuel, propane tanks, asbestos, or anything biohazard. No in-ground or built-in hot tubs — those need a licensed contractor.

If you book something on this list, we’ll tell you before the pickup day and refund you in full. In particular: if a hot tub turns out to be in-ground rather than above-ground, we cancel and refund everything. See the FAQ for the full list.

Property and damage

Our haulers carry general liability insurance and we verify it before they take a job. If something of yours is damaged during a pickup, call us within 48 hours and we’ll handle the claim rather than sending you to chase the crew.

We can’t be responsible for pre-existing wear, for damage caused by a doorway or stairwell too narrow for the item, or for anything left inside a piece of furniture or an appliance. Empty it before pickup day.

Where your items go

Once we take it, it’s ours to dispose of. Items still in usable condition go to donation or recycling where we can; everything else goes to the appropriate transfer station. Appliance refrigerant is recovered to code. We can’t retrieve an item after pickup.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, and any dispute belongs in the courts of Benton or Franklin County.
